Gresik, July 29, 2025 — PT Liku Telaga, a chemical manufacturing company supporting the development of national infrastructure and a subsidiary of PT Lautan Luas Tbk, a raw material supplier and integrated solutions provider with 74 years of experience, has officially commenced the operation of a solar panel system at its plant in Gresik, East Java, through a collaboration with PT Emerging Solar Indonesia (ESI). This initiative reflects Liku Telaga’s commitment to supporting the clean energy transition in the manufacturing sector, which currently accounts for 32.49 percent of pollutant emissions. The initiative also aligns with East Java’s regional government target of increasing the renewable energy mix to 19.56 percent by 2050.
Through this collaboration, ESI supports Liku Telaga’s clean energy adoption with the installation of 171 solar panels with a total capacity of 113.7 kWp. The use of these solar panels is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by up to 141.5 tons, equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of more than 3,648 trees, marking a concrete step in Liku Telaga’s decarbonization strategy.

As one of the key players in the chemical industry, Liku Telaga reaffirmed its commitment to the use of clean energy. "This step reflects our commitment to ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) principles by consistently prioritizing environmental considerations in our operations. We believe that the clean energy transition is not only essential for long-term sustainability but can also go hand-in-hand with business growth. The solar panel installation scheme offered by ESI, which requires no capital expenditure or operational costs, enables us to benefit from clean energy while remaining focused on the development of our core business," said Gani Kristiono Kusuma, President Director of PT Liku Telaga. "We hope this initiative will inspire more industries to take similar steps toward a greener future," he added.
The inauguration was also attended by Harry Radcliffe, Director of ESI, who welcomed the collaboration and outlined ESI’s support for Liku Telaga.
"This collaboration demonstrates how clean energy solutions can be practically adopted by industrial players without disrupting their operational focus. We believe that an efficient and measurable approach, supported by global technical expertise, will help Liku Telaga transition toward more sustainable industrial practices," said Harry Radcliffe.
With a long-term oriented approach, ESI is committed to accelerating the adoption of sustainable solar energy and enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry. This commitment aligns with ESI’s mission to deliver renewable energy solutions that are accessible, efficient, and adaptive across various sectors.
